Mark 13: 28-31 Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When her branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is near: So ye in like manner; when ye shall see these things come to pass, know that it is nigh, even at the doors. Verily I say unto you, that this generation shall not pass, till all these things be done. Heaven and earth shall pass away; but my words shall not pass away. KJV
While visiting by phone recently, I learned that a close friend of mine was experiencing some heaviness in his chest. I listened as he continued to share some of the discomforting symptoms. I encouraged him to see a doctor and then prayed for him. Two days later, someone wrote to say that our mutual friend was in the hospital for testing.
Had he ignored the warnings much longer, he may have had a massive heart attack. But because he took heed to the signs, I feel certain that he will recover.
Jesus has given signs and warnings throughout the Bible of his return. As a believer, we know that he has promised us that just as he left, he would come again. Those waiting and watching will see his appearance. Those who are unprepared, will not.
Jesus said that even he does not know exactly when his return will be. God alone knows when he will send his Son back for his Church, but again, he gave us signs to watch for.

In the mean time, we are not to stand idly by wringing our hands; we must be about our Fathers business. The fields are still white with the harvest. Pray for the workers, pray for the lost, and prepare for the coming of the Lord. Time is drawing near.
There is no greater time than now to minister to the needs of others. Tsunami has taken a toll on so many lives, earthquakes shake the world, and wars are raging. We cannot all go, but we can help send others. We can keep them covered in prayer.
Finally, if your heart is not right with God and you have not received Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, now is the time. Jesus did the work on the cross that you might not have to pay the penalty of death. Take heed, hear the voice of the Spirit as he calls, Come. Receive the free gift of salvation.
